People living in the Far East have eaten rice for centuries. Now Americans are beginning to become more interested in eating rice for health. Now people living here want to know how to find the best rice cooker. There are so many different kinds being sold in the United States that until you start researching the topic it is difficult to know how to make a decision about which type to get.
There are Japanese rice cookers as well as ones produced by domestic companies. There are many different brands including, Zojirushi, Tiger, Panasonic, Sanyo, Black & Decker and Aroma to name just a few of the more popular ones. Prices vary considerably so having a figure in mind that you would like to get one for may help you avoid getting carried away and spending too much. The sizes of these machines differs too. Typically they come in a 3 cup size (perfect for people living alone, couples and small families); 5.5 cup size (this is the most common and is large enough for many families); and 10 cup size (this is the largest standard size and can feed nearly twenty people). Other differences between rice cooking appliances is the functionality that they have. For example, options to cook different types of rice. Some can make risotto and others can be used to bake cakes and even bread. Others still, have a pressure cooking function to speed up cooking times. Typically the more you pay, the more options you will get on a rice cooker.
Deciding what the best rice cooker is for you will obviously involve making decisions regarding the options above. The most important ones in my opinion are size and price. Then you can start looking at other options within the sub-set that is best suited to your budget and living situation. Rice is a great food and can help us to become healthier individuals.
