Freeswinger Junghans Wall Clocks
Global Antiques Holland has a freeswinger Junghans wall clock in a case made of burr walnut which is adorned with bronze angel and lion heads and is dated circa 1890. Some of the features of the clock are an eight day movement, that is still completely functional, a porcelain dial, steel hands, a swan motif carved pendulum, and a spring gong style chime that strikes on the hour and the half hour. On the bronze movement piece there is a stamped Junghans logo and a number from the series A52 which is how it can be dated and authenticated. As other Junghans wall clocks, it is large but is hung on the wall, not a freestanding floor model. It’s almost 40 inches high, 15.5 inches wide and just over 6 inches deep. This piece apparently sold for $3,450. Remember it was in perfect working order and the case was in mint condition, so not all clocks Junghans wall clocks will fetch that price, but in general you can get an idea of the value of these pieces.

Affordable Junghans wall clocks
At Antiques Atlas, there’s Junghans wall clocks, and one piece, circa 1900, sold for as little as $250, but that may be due to the fact that it was a mantle clock not large wall clocks like the above mentioned item. There are also a few Junghans wall clocks being auctioned on eBay and some go for around $500. So, as with all antiques, there isn’t a strict price you can expect to sell for or pay because so many factors come into play – the style of the clock, its age, does it work, is it well stamped and easy to authenticate, and the case quality and condition.
