When it comes to the kitchen, some things seem to be mere luxuries, and others are pretty much absolute necessities. A refrigerator, for example, is one of those appliances that would be pretty tough to live without. Even in the days before refrigeration, someone would go around delivering ice to people’s homes. That said, the type of refrigerator you get doesn’t matter a whole lot, the most important thing is that it keeps your food fresh.
These days there are so many fancy types of refrigerators that it can be intimidating to the consumer. You have the French door, Four Door, and Integrated Fridge. In addition to this, there are all those other features such as ice and cold water in the door. While these added extras are great to have, they can really drive up the price. A simple refrigerator that only does what it is designed to do can cost as little as a few hundred dollars. In contrast, some other units with all the bells and whistles can cost well over a thousand bucks.
For people who live in tiny apartments or college dormitories, even if you don’t have room for a full size fridge, you can still keep your food and drinks at a cool temperature to keep them fresh. A dorm refrigerator is the perfect thing for this type of situation. Most college students just want to get their hands on the cheapest little refrigerator that they can find and although these fridges will generally work fine for keeping cans and snacks cold, they usually don’t have very good freezers. If you want a small refrigerator that can also make ice and freeze items, you will need to spend a little extra cash to get a higher specification. Try to find a fridge that has either a separate freezer compartment or a large enclosed freezer inside.
