Solar lights have gradually become more and more popular around the world as of late. This is especially true in the areas of Ireland and England. Why? Because they are a practically effortless way to light your garden, as well as just about any other exterior spot. They utilize special solar cells that soak up sunlight, and convert that energy to useable light. And best of all, most of the range of models available look great too!

One of the most notable uses is the placement of them throughout the garden area, and along such areas of the home as the path that leads to the front door, the driveway outskirts, and around the observatory. Of course, that’s only scratching the surface in terms of where solar lights can be used. They can be employed as floatation devices—lighting a small pond or pool—or placed around the edges of, henceforth.

Not only do solar lights provide a cool, illuminated environment at night, they are also very functional and versatile.  Many of the places you want lighting don’t offer electric power, and changing batteries periodically can be something of a headache. Also, they can be placed just about anywhere, depending on the form of the light.

Other great uses of solar lights

  • A series of them would look great strung out on tree limbs
  • As lanterns that adorn your front entry area
  • Some come as spot-lights and flood-lights—and some, even motion-sensitive for security purposes
  • In or around the ‘ole observatory, patio, or deck

Besides the versatility factor, think of the energy savings. Utility bills never get cheaper—that’s a fact of life. However, incorporate solar cells all-around the front and backyard, and replace the lights that have to get their juice from electrical power or expensive alkaline batteries. You might just be surprised when you open your next power bill!
