- Make sure that the area where you are going to work is clean and has no debris accumulated. Keep the drill and the handy wrench close to you. This will save some time if one is going to run around and look for them. Switch off the electricity and the water supply. If replacing your old dishwasher, or installing dishwasher replacement parts, remember to unplug and drain the dishwasher. The water valve is just under the sink. Or turn off water at the main switch. If there is no shut off valve, then you need to install one. To do this first drain off all water, unscrew the valve with the wrench, take the dual-outlet valve, put the wind pipe wrap around the nipple threads. Now it is ready to be installed.
- If you aren’t replacing an old one, then drill a hole at the back of the wall for the hose to come through.
- Now slide the dishwasher near the opening and keep all the hoses towards the hole you just drilled. Be careful not to entangle all the cords. Keep the connectors free and not pinched.
- Then connect the sink supply to the dual-outlet valve and tighten it using the wrench. Attach a hose clamp at the short end if you have a waste disposal. The clamp should be really tight. Also clamp the longer hose very tightly.
