If you are looking to either build a new home or recarpet your old home, then you are more than aware of the cost of carpeting. If you are someone who is looking to decreas this overall cost, and still get quality carpets in your home, then you may wish to consider installing remnant carpet where possible in your home. By doing so, you may be able to either save money or improve the quality of carpet you were going to install for the same price–and you may not have to give up anything in terms of convenience or overall looks. In fact, you may just improve them. With bound carpet remnants you will get several advantages:

First, you will save money, period. Carpet remnants are the extra pieces left over from previous jobs that were not used completely. No, these remnants are not used pieces of carpeting. They are brand new, same quality pieces of carpeting–they just weren’t used and as such are somewhat more limited due to the smaller size. Because contractors and carpet retailers do not like to waste their products (and their potential profits) they will try to resell these spare pieces, but they will do so at a discount in order to entice people to buy them.

Second, while your options are somewhat limited due to the size constraints of the remnants you still have many options that can be considered, and you can actually turn this into an attractive advantage. Instead of trying to find remants big enough to cover your living room or great room, concentrate instead on covering the smaller rooms in your home (kids bedrooms, libraries, offices, etc.). This will make it easier to find carpeting remnants that will work, but it also can add a variety and style that you would not achieve if you installed the same carpet thoughout your entire home.
